Hey Loqal

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 30, 2026

Hey Loqal is run by Very Good Post LLC in Wakefield, Rhode Island (“we”). This page explains what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted. Questions: jtsalisbury@gmail.com.

The free Visibility Report

When you request a report we store:

  • your business name, town, trade, Instagram handle (if given) and your answer about Facebook posting
  • your email address, and whether you ticked “Send me tips and early-access invites”
  • the report itself: your Google place ID, the business name and address Google shows, scores and summary numbers (rating, review count, photo count), and the names and summary numbers of the nearby businesses you’re compared with
  • a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address, used only to limit how many reports one connection can run

To build the report we look up public information about your business with Google’s Places API, public Instagram business account information with Meta’s Instagram API, and, if switched on, a sample answer from an AI assistant (Anthropic). We never store the text of anyone’s reviews.

We use your email to send you your report and, only if you ticked the box, occasional tips and early-access invites. We don’t sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Businesses that use the app

Pilot businesses sign in with their email. To post for you, we store the job photos and notes you upload, the captions we write, and access tokens for the accounts you connect (Google Business Profile, Facebook Page, Instagram). Tokens are encrypted and are used only to publish posts you approve and to show your profile’s statistics and reviews on your dashboard. Photos are resized and have location data removed before posting. Captions are written by Anthropic’s Claude from your note and photos.

Hey Loqal’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don’t use Google or Meta account data for advertising or to train AI models.

Text messages

If you turn on texting in Settings, we store your mobile number, the date and time you agreed to receive texts, and the texts and photos you send to the Hey Loqal number and our replies. We use them only to write and publish your posts and to answer you. See Texting with Hey Loqal for how it works.

We don’t sell or share your mobile number or text-message opt-in with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Texts are delivered by Twilio, which handles them only to send and receive messages for us. Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts.

Who processes data for us

  • Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage)
  • Twilio (sending and receiving text messages)
  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Google (Places API; Business Profile APIs when you connect Google)
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram APIs)
  • Anthropic (caption writing and the optional AI sample)

How long we keep it

Report requests are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for the pilot. Data for connected accounts is kept while you use the app and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. See Data deletion or email jtsalisbury@gmail.com. You can stop tips emails by replying “stop”.

Children

Hey Loqal is for businesses and isn’t meant for anyone under 18.
